Tarin+Vince: Engagement Photographer

Tarin and Vince were a pleasure to photograph!  Although Tarin admitted her last formal portrait was probably for school pictures, she is a dancer and movement in front of the camera was no problem at all!  (I love photographing dancers)  ;)

There was an obvious chemistry between these two, and that made the session even more amazing to capture.  (My job really is awesome.)

Tarin asked for an "industrial" location, so we headed to the third ward for some texture and contrast.  I'm really glad she requested this, because it's something I have been wanting to do for a while now.  I just think there is something so striking about putting people in new and unexpected destinations.

So sweet :)

I love the colors here-

Ashleigh & Andrew: Couple photography

Ashleigh & Andrew are another couple I was fortunate enough to photograph during my stay in Oklahoma City.  I went to school with these two, and Ashleigh was my roommate Junior year of college.

Not much has changed in the past few years, but I am so wickedly happy for this couple... they just... fit.  :)  They are intelligent and cultured vegetarians who devote their lives to helping others.  (Who doesn't appreciate a couple like that?)

We got a bit of a late start, so the heat tried to keep us down, but we were still able to power through and get some great shots!  :)

I love how deceptively cool this picture is...

Hah- thanks for playing, roommate!

..just beautiful.

Rhianna & Chris

Rhianna and Chris opted to have a super-small wedding and save their money for a killer honeymoon instead.  :)  Travelers after my own heart!  They went to an all-inclusive resort in Costa Rica where they got to soak up sun on the beach and RV up the steep jungle-mountains.

Now they're back to the "real world", but their post-wedding bliss has not subsided a bit!  They are both writers who are quirky, fun and absolutely in love with one another.  (I will never tire of seeing that.)  We had a grand old time playing with geese and meandering through Meyer Park on a lazy Saturday afternoon... my job is pretty much amazing.

Timeless...

It's official!

They exude happiness!

Shelly & Chris: Engagement Photographer

I've been talking with Shelly over the phone (and emails and texts) for several weeks, but I finally got to meet her and Chris this past weekend!  We met up at Hermann Park (about halfway between Pearland and Tomball) last Sunday morning and heated things up with an engagement shoot (or maybe that was the Houston weather).

These two were a little quieter than some of my previous couples, but they were definitely just as in love with one another.  They have two girls (ages 7 and 3) and are parents before anything else, so I think it was nice to have a quiet morning in the park.

What a ham-

I love that they can make each other smile-

...looking a bit more serious

Courtney and Dean: Houston engagement photographer

This past weekend, I met Courtney and Dean at the Mercer Arboretum for their engagement pictures.  I had never been to the botanical gardens, but the locale did not disappoint- everything was green and in bloom thanks to some recent rain.

These two warned me that they were a little uncomfortable and needed help being posed, but I think they did great!  I don't really like to take photos that are too posed anyways, so we were able to find a natural groove after a while.

Courtney smiled and laughed the whole time!  She said it was nerves, but what a way to cover nervousness!  She has an absolutely beautiful smile, and I think she must have a lot of joy in her life to smile and laugh so genuinely for an entire shoot.  :)

I love the look on Dean's face!

Courtney is such a ham!

She BEGGED Dean to make funny faces... definite school teacher!

Courtney also requested at least one jump shot...  :)

Absolutely gorgeous.
