Steven+Mavis+Josh+Amy+Noah+Lylah: Family Photographer

I don't think Amy believed me when I told her, but I honestly had a blast editing and reliving these photos!  There were so many surprise expressions and beautiful, sentimental moments to re-experience.

Noah and Lylah recently turned one, and Amy wanted some photos to commemorate the big event.  Grandma and Grandpa came along to help entertain the kids and get in on some of the photos- I loved the way they turned out!  Hermann park offered the perfect backdrop: park benches, bridges, trains and bright, yellow flowers.

The girls

This is one of those photos that made my day :)

Such a sweet family!

I loved these photos of them playing-

Shelly & Chris: Engagement Photographer

I've been talking with Shelly over the phone (and emails and texts) for several weeks, but I finally got to meet her and Chris this past weekend!  We met up at Hermann Park (about halfway between Pearland and Tomball) last Sunday morning and heated things up with an engagement shoot (or maybe that was the Houston weather).

These two were a little quieter than some of my previous couples, but they were definitely just as in love with one another.  They have two girls (ages 7 and 3) and are parents before anything else, so I think it was nice to have a quiet morning in the park.

What a ham-

I love that they can make each other smile-

Kerri & Karl: Houston Couple Photographer

Ever since I talked with Kerri on the phone a few weeks ago, I knew that I was going to love hanging out with these two!  Because they are new to the Houston area, they decided to have an intimate ceremony at the courthouse and are planning a large party with friends and family back in New York.

After officially tying the knot, the three of us headed over to Hermann Park to take some lovely engagement style photos.  These two are SO in love, and it shows!  They were engaged after only dating for a month and a half, and just began dating this past September (despite knowing one another for 6yrs).

I love how enamored they were with their new rings (they couldn't stop staring at them), and I adored how unexpectedly emotional the small ceremony was.

Thank you Kerri and Karl for a beautiful day!

Kerri, you are so lovely!

Admiring those rings...

He's a definite keeper!

How cute are they?

Beautiful.

Natalie and Ryan: NW Houston Engagement Photographer

Natalie is a girl whom I actually grew up dancing with.  She is a phenomenal, competitive swimmer and has met her match: Ryan... a tall basketball player with the brightest blue eyes I've ever seen.  The two of them will be getting married on a cruise ship sometime next year, and they wanted engagement shots done super-early so they could "send out invites with enough time for people to save for the trip."

The three of us met downtown at around 9am to shoot at Hermann Park.  (which I love, by the way- there is such a variety of texture!)  We took a small hike on the hidden trails, gallivanted around the Japanese gardens, climbed in and out of sculptures, and only disturbed one homeless person.  (It was an accident!  We thought the little Japanese hut was nice too.)

Natalie incorporated subtle peacock colors to match their wedding theme!

I love how these colors are so bold!

I know you felt gay, but thanks for humoring me on this one, Ryan.  :)

This one was their idea!
