Halloween Mini Sessions: NW Houston Child Photographer

This was Gilded Sun's first annual Halloween Mini-Session!  Although we had a few last-minute cancellations due to car trouble and the flu, the kids that did show up were absolutely amazing!

Baseball Pics: NW Houston family photographer

Last week I got to take pictures of the most adorable little T-Ball player!  Austin is four years old and just started T-Ball this season.  His mom wasn't too keen on the "normal" pictures provided by the team, so she asked me to take some of him "just being a kid."

We met at Bear Creek Park and ran around their baseball fields all morning.  We climbed stairs and trees, got into the dirt, and played on bleachers.  It was great!

I had a really difficult time deciding which photos I liked the best (a common problem with adorable children), but here are a handful of my favorites:

Kelsey and Justin: NW Houston Wedding Photographer

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to shoot the perfect outdoor wedding.  Everything took place around 5pm in Conroe, TX, so the light was absolutely perfect; I was able to get some really beautiful photos! 

The bride and groom are the cutest pair of young lovebirds- so respectful and in love!  They didn't seem to get too caught up in the ceremony and time-frames of the day... just wandered through it with smiles of adoration for one another.

The evening was complete with garter and bouquet tosses, cake cutting (and smashing), punch and first dances.

These boys were perfect little gentlemen!

Molly and Marc -Natural Light Portrait Photography

This was the second time I had the pleasure of photographing Molly, another photographer in the area (http://www.photosbymolly.com/).  I took some headshots for her website back in February, and she recently asked me to take some photos of her and her hubby for their Christmas cards!

Marc and Molly are such a sweet couple, and we laughed the whole while about how we've grown far too comfortable staying behind the lens.  (Although Marc was, admittedly, in a pretty playful mood for our early morning shoot)  Good thing... I think it made for some cute pictures!

Tomball Photographer: on the Other Side of the lens

I had an informal photo shoot today, and I gotta say- I think it's a good idea for professional photographers to do that every once and a while!  Even with an extensive performance background, and numerous shoots under my belt, I still felt that initial awkwardness that everyone seems to express at the beginning of a shoot...

"What do you want me to do?"  I laughed out loud as I heard myself say these very words.

Anyways, it was a great reminder of how clients feel on the day of their shoot!

So, I've been using the last couple weeks to really get the photography business advertised in all the local website searches.  One site that looks to be particularly helpful is www.Thumbtack.com.  It is an easy-to-navigate database of services around your community.
