Shea+Elizabeth+Brooks: Family Photographer

When Elizabeth asked me to photograph her family's Christmas photo this year, I was more than pleased.  I was honored to take little Brooks' newborn pictures back in August, and couldn't wait to see this sweet family again!

We met at Shea's workplace and took photos both inside and outside.  I loved the antique-chic style of their home for the newborn shoot, and Shea's office boasted the same, sophisticated style.  Great architecture, furniture pieces and open spaces made shooting a breeze.  (I love options)  :)

Steven+Mavis+Josh+Amy+Noah+Lylah: Family Photographer

I don't think Amy believed me when I told her, but I honestly had a blast editing and reliving these photos!  There were so many surprise expressions and beautiful, sentimental moments to re-experience.

Noah and Lylah recently turned one, and Amy wanted some photos to commemorate the big event.  Grandma and Grandpa came along to help entertain the kids and get in on some of the photos- I loved the way they turned out!  Hermann park offered the perfect backdrop: park benches, bridges, trains and bright, yellow flowers.

This is one of those photos that made my day :)

Mark+Alex+Samantha: Family Photographer

A few months ago, I photographed newborn, Brooke, in his parent's country-feel town home.  Little did I know, there was another adorable newborn just next door!

Samantha's parents waited until she was 3 months to take some formal portraits of her, so they were quite different than Brooke's photos.  Our little girl was alert and watching the entire time.

Alex had a couple of great baskets and tutus to choose from, and I brought along my green suitcase to add some diversity to the project.  Although Mark wasn't a huge fan of the fluffy skirts, I -of course- adored them!
This open-ended basket worked so well

I dare you not to crack a smile..

Samantha's animals love her!

Brandy+Byron+Byron: Halloween

I happen to love Brandy and Byron and am completely honored that I have really been able to document the growth of their family: couples pictures, maternity shoot, baby shower...  This is the first time I was able to get little Byron in front of the camera, and he absolutely couldn't have been more adorable!

Little Byron was all dressed up as a purple spider for his first Halloween, and his eight little legs definitely captured my heart!

Tarin+Vince: Engagement Photographer

Tarin and Vince were a pleasure to photograph!  Although Tarin admitted her last formal portrait was probably for school pictures, she is a dancer and movement in front of the camera was no problem at all!  (I love photographing dancers)  ;)

There was an obvious chemistry between these two, and that made the session even more amazing to capture.  (My job really is awesome.)

Tarin asked for an "industrial" location, so we headed to the third ward for some texture and contrast.  I'm really glad she requested this, because it's something I have been wanting to do for a while now.  I just think there is something so striking about putting people in new and unexpected destinations.

So sweet :)

I love the colors here-
