Kerri & Karl: Houston Couple Photographer

Ever since I talked with Kerri on the phone a few weeks ago, I knew that I was going to love hanging out with these two!  Because they are new to the Houston area, they decided to have an intimate ceremony at the courthouse and are planning a large party with friends and family back in New York.

After officially tying the knot, the three of us headed over to Hermann Park to take some lovely engagement style photos.  These two are SO in love, and it shows!  They were engaged after only dating for a month and a half, and just began dating this past September (despite knowing one another for 6yrs).

I love how enamored they were with their new rings (they couldn't stop staring at them), and I adored how unexpectedly emotional the small ceremony was.

Thank you Kerri and Karl for a beautiful day!

Kerri, you are so lovely!

Admiring those rings...

He's a definite keeper!

How cute are they?

Beautiful.

Heels With Wheels

This past week, I had the amazing opportunity of being able to meet and photograph Angela Irick and her band of models.

Angela felt that there was a need for trendy and fashionable wear for those ladies that are disabled and may have difficulty finding easy-to-wear items at your local mall.  What did she do with this need?  She created a line herself!  She has named her line "Heels With Wheels  (clever, eh?) and is really creating a stir in her community.  She has even had requests to extend her line to include menswear.

Please check out the website and share it with anyone you think might be interested!  http://heelswithwheels.com  (Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/#!/HeelswithWheels)

PS- all the lovely makeup and hair was provided by Sheryl Moreno of Instant Glamour.  (Show her some love too- she's amazing!)

That's Angela- the idea girl!

One of the biggest complaints: finding jeans that fit!

There are scarves and hats too

Margaret: Houston Maternity Photographer

This shoot was particularly special to me; it was my very first maternity shoot!  The lucky lady (besides me being the one to capture it all) is a woman named, Margaret.  She is so tall and lovely, and was actually my "big sis" my very first year on the Lariette dance team at Westfield High School!

I was so pleased Margaret wanted to bring her husband, Chris, along for the shoot.  Maternity is more than just the woman and her "baby bump," it's a growing family!  The two of them were really great despite the cold weather.  Well, Margaret was fine, but Chris and I were admittedly a "bit chilled."  :)

I look forward to more maternity shoots- I really enjoyed seeing the love of a developing family!

I love how adoring this papa is...

What a jokester!

Margaret had a blast on the swings! "I never get to do anything fun since I'm pregnant!"

These two crack me up!

Again- adoring father.

Luckily, with Valentine's Day around the corner, I was able to supply some heart-shaped donuts!

...Margaret seemed to like them.  :)

Sheenafayvuh: Houston Model Photographer

Sheenafayvuh (or "Jennifer" since her move to the states) is a beautiful young model.  She is a tiny little thing (only 5'1"), and said she used to do runway back in Germany- wow!

She is currently training for a future in childcare development, but she is always expanding her modeling portfolio.  It is a dream of hers to become an international model and be known back home in Germany.

We worked together on her hair and make-up (with some help from a friend), and were able to transform this young girl into a truly timeless young woman.

We started off with all black and shiny/ feathered accessories...

Accessories always make interesting props too-

I asked Jennifer to create shapes on her face to draw focus to her eyes <3

This turquoise dress was absolutely stunning!

So sophisticated...

This set reminded me of a hair ad :)

Marilyn: Houston model photographer

Marilyn is a young lady I shot last week.  She arranged for the hairstylist, Billy, and I to meet her near dowtown at her mother's place of business.  Her hair was in curls when I first arrived, and we discussed what she would be wearing and what her objectives were for the shoot while Billy teased and set her locks.

Marilyn needed some updated headshots for the photogenic portion of her pageant competitions, so that was our primary goal.  I applied her makeup and we were off!

Check out Billy at http://www.onsitehairdesign.webs.com/, and keep up with Marilyn on Youtube.com/user/mtertainments.

She wins my vote for "most photogenic!"

another makeup change from me...

Hah!  She completely played up this little-girl-do!

-and all grown up!
