Christmas after Christmas: Houston Family Photographer

Ashley e-mailed me the morning of our shoot and asked about my availability for that day... luckily, I had a last-minute cancellation and we were able to coordinate our schedules!  I laughed when she told me the photos were for Christmas cards, but who sends them out before Christmas anyways?

Ashley has an invitation business here in Houston and does gorgeous work; I highly recommend her for specialty printing such as cards and invites.  (www.myurbaninvites.com)

By the way, this family is just absolutely adorable, and I am completely convinced that they belong in a Colgate commercial- check out those pearly whites!

What a cutie patootie!

What a feat: 2 adults, a baby and 2 dogs all in the same frame!

Christmas 2010: NW Houston Family Photographer

This is the third time I've had the opportunity to photograph this particular family, and I love getting to see these girls grow!  Amanda always has them dressed so nicely, and the girls are just lovely!

For this particular holiday shoot, we headed out to the property of one of their family members.  Unfortunately, I got stuck in a ditch right before the shoot.  I pulled into the wrong drive and backed out a bit crooked (oye), but Jason was a champ and helped me push it out before we got to the picture-taking.  (Thanks again)

Take a look at these adorable little cuties- they certainly brightened MY day!

Fishnet Fashion: Houston Fashion Photographer

This was my second attempt at fashion photography, and I have to say... I'm really developing a taste for it!

I set up a simple white backdrop and used all natural light from a nearby window to create the uneven shading on our model's face.

It was Shelly's idea to use the fishnet, and I just love the way we were able to play with it- a twist on the classic beauty shot.  Because this shoot was focused on her face, we were able to really accentuate those eyes of hers- completely doe-like!

Christmas photos: NW Houston family photographer

I've taken a number of photos this season that will be used in Christmas cards and kept as an annual reminder of the family, but this family decided to go all out for the season!  Charles was a good sport and played the part of Santa, while the kiddos hammed it up.

Much like Monique, Candace was prepared for the shoot with a mini-look-book of images she wanted to recreate!

You may recognize this little devil and vampire from Gilded Sun's Halloween mini-sessions.  I love being able to photograph kids a second or third time; I think they're a little more comfortable and are more willing to play.

Jaelyn: Houston event Photographer

one-shoe predicament
This is the first one-year-old Birthday party that I've ever attended (to my recollection), and I had a blast!  The child of honor was Jaelyn- an angelic little girl who had a Princess and the Frog themed party.

Lots of people were there to celebrate -family, friends, co-workers (of Mom, not Jaelyn).  You could really sense how loved this little girl is!  Jaelyn was happy to be in anyone's arms... especially if you had a phone.  She is obviously starting her infatuation with them young, but what kid doesn't like a telephone?  Mom will have a hard time finding a place for all those new gifts, but it looks like she doesn't have to worry too much about Christmas presents this year!

I adore Jesika's proud-Mama face!

Family Love.

Monique and Adrian: Dallas Engagement Photographer

Monique and Adrian are a couple that photographers dream of!  Monique says she did some modeling "back in her pageant days," and Adrian says he's not done anything professional, but man... these two knew how to work the camera!

We met in Dallas (the biggest city between Oklahoma City and Houston) and walked around downtown to get some amazing shots!  Although Mo and Adrian didn't get into town until after 5am (they stayed at a hotel over "night"), both of them were ready and looking clean!  Again, I love that they chose to coordinate and not match.

Mo was beyond prepared and brought with a look-book of images she wanted to duplicate (helpful to me, so I knew exactly what she was going for).  I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed taking and editing them!

We had some fun in their OU gear

You can only get images like this when you improv!
