Paradise Jewelry Designs: Product Photographer

This past week I had the opportunity to meet Robin and her mother: a two-woman team of amazing local jewelry makers!  Robin was dissatisfied with her current images and didn't feel that they adequately represented her line of jewelry.  (Color and clarity were her top priorities)  She contacted me, and we were able to set up a studio on-location and took some gorgeous photos of these gorgeous pieces!

Please stop by the Paradise Jewelry Designs website and show Robin some love- the new photos should be uploaded soon!

Whip your hair: Houston model photographer

So, Dezarae humored me with another shoot.

I entitle this one: "Whip your hair" (for obvious reasons).  The goal was to get as much focus on Dezarae's face while still catching the movement of her hair.  I wanted the hair to be blurry to showcase the movement, but Dez's face to be in focus... so we could see her pretty mug.  :)  ..It proved to be a bit of a challenge- despite how fun it was.

(I think next time I will add a flash and sacrifice some movement for a stagnant, clear shot)

After looking at the images, I realized just how many times Dez had to whip her hair- I'm not really sure how she didn't develop a case of whip lash after this shoot!  What a trooper.
My single favorite shot of the collection-

How amazingly serene does she look here?

Hailey: Houston model photographer

Hailey is a gorgeous model who recently relocated to Houston from Dallas and needed updated photos for her modeling portfolio.

She is a soft-spoken and mild mannered girl, but I think she has great potential to book lots of modeling work in the future.  She was well-prepared, took direction well, and was wonderfully polite.  What more could you ask for?

Hailey had a great all-American girl look- Just naturally beautiful.

If I shoot with her again, I think I may request a MUA (make-up artist) or hairstylist to give us a bit more diversity and texture in her pictures.  She has that "quiet beauty" look down, but I'd love to see what else she has up her sleeve!
My mom is a rockstar for finding these suitcases at a second-hand shop!

I couldn't get enough of this mod take on the 20's

Hailey even humored me with a little dance... thanks for making my day!

Dezarae: Houston Portrait Photographer

Dezarae is a good friend of mine and absolutely beautiful!

Before the sun went down, we took a few photos in front of the ivy that crawls up the side of my sister's house; I couldn't be more pleased with the results of this quick and easy shoot.  I tried to work with the sun (and resulting lens flare) to create these images.

Dezarae is a breeze to work with and has a gorgeous, natural smile.  I think you're officially ready to model!

Ashley & Don: Houston Wedding Photographer

 interlocking toasting glasses
Ashley and Don were officially married in December at the Renaissance Festival (the same place Don proposed last year).  Because it was a small ceremony, the two decided to have a belated reception so that more friends and family could celebrate their joyful union.  The reception was held on New Year's Day at Shirley Acres (the same place we took Ashley's bridals!)

There were some wonderful, unique touches that I just adored (I think the groom's cake topped it all), and I just loved watching these two lovebirds dance the night away.  They are one of those couples that just beam love; no doubt about it, Don and Ashley were made for one another.

This cake had beautiful detail

Check out the pirate-themed cake hand-made by our bride and groom!

..best groom's cake ever!

..so in love.
Sentimental toast made by Dad... he even quoted Winnie the Pooh!

Hah!  Their expressions are priceless-

Thank you random flash for adding a magical touch
This little girl was so fun

Everyone danced all night long
