Katie: NW Houston Bridal Photographer

Last Wednesday, I was able to shoot with Katie for the second time.  I was Katie and Kevin's engagement photographer back in July, and it was my absolute pleasure to work with her again!

We headed down to the Woodland's Waterway in the late afternoon and really turned some heads at the Goose's Acre.  We trekked up and down the riverwalk and got some stunning shots of this lovely bride!

It makes me laugh to think how many times Katie rejoiced that she was able to try out her dress before the big day-  seamstress-ladies can be unforgiving!

These boots are for Kevin!
Katie and Kevin's very own giving tree!  This is the spot where he proposed!

Her prince!

Can you believe that Kevin picked out these shoes?

We have fun too!

We were able to get a guerrilla shot of Katie's mom!  Thanks for joining us!

Brandy & Byron: NW Houston Couple Photographer

On Saturday, I met one of the loveliest couples I think I've ever come across.  They were both so beautiful- inside and out.  It seemed their sparkling smiles only illuminated their inner-happiness.

Brandy and Byron have only been married about 4 months, but it still looks like they're on their honeymoon.  They are so in love with each other, and it shows!  Byron was whispering sweet somethings in Brandy's ear, and we got some really genuine smiles out of the both of them.

I had a blast shooting these two!

A sentimental moment from Brandy
Byron knew how to lighten the mood!

Blue Angels: Event Photographer

This last weekend, I attended an air show in the Dallas/ Ft Worth area.  It was my first air show, and wow- what an experience!  I am fairly impressed with the ability of man to fly at all, so this show completely blew me away!  Planes of all shapes and sizes were swooping and loop-de-looping all over the place!

By far, the most impressive group of the day was the Blue Angels.  (The final performance beginning at around 3pm.)  These planes flew so close to one another -at such an amazing speed- that the thought makes me want to pee my pants a little bit.  Heh... just a little.

Check out some of the amazing shots I was able to get.  The largest zoom I used was a 200, so this gives you an idea of how close these planes were actually flying to us!

PS- Feel free to check out my personal blog for some more pictures at the ground level!

Holiday Mini-Sessions: NW Houston Family Photographer

I had some folks asking if I would be hosting a Holiday Mini-Session, and here it is!  Due to the busy Holiday season, we had to host it on a Thursday, so make sure you call first to reserve the time-slot that is most convenient for you!

If you are unable to make our Thursday Mini-Sessions, feel free to contact Gilded Sun to set up your own private appointment for the time that works best with your schedule.

(And remember to spread the love- the more the merrier!)

Live at the Meridian: Houston Band Photographer

Last weekend I dragged my sister downtown to view some live music.  I had photographed Caney Creek Heroes back in August, and they invited me to their show at the Meridian in downtown Houston.  I took a few pictures of some of the other bands, but Caney Creek Heroes really rocked it out!

This band has such an energy and presence on stage that I could have enjoyed the show simply for the visual feast they provided me.  The guys were jumping and kicking and truly feeling their music; I loved it!

These two had a nice chill feel...
..but Caney Creek Heroes rocked the house!

Falyne's pup: NW Houston Pet Photographer

Falyne is a beautiful lady and her pup, Chanel, is just as classy!  Both girls came primped and ready for their photo shoot.

I must say, I've never had such a cooperative pup- Chanel not only stayed in place, but she was more than willing to look at the camera!  She responded to everything from her name to "pretty girl!"

Chanel's purple bows were the perfect touch too.  Falyne is an avid LSU supporter and let a hint of school spirit shine through in the photos: Geaux Tigers!
