Dalton: Senior Pictures

I met Dalton and his mother up at the Theis park in Tomball this past Friday.  (Weekdays are always great, because the parks are generally less crowded.)

Mom kept close by and helped us figure some "manly" poses.  A really funny thought when you think about it- Dalton is about as "manly" as they come.  He's been working on a ranch for the past few years, enjoys hunting and fishing, and will soon be attending 8 weeks worth of taxidermy school this summer before his college courses begin.  (The son my father always hoped for)

All in all... a super easy-going guy!

Dalton's got some guns from working out on the ranch!

..such a sweet guy

So casually cool

hard-working man-hands... and a class ring

Rachel+Daniel+Elara: Houston Family Photographer

Rachel contacted me and requested a "typical Texas family portrait."  Although the sincerity of her desire seemed to make her laugh, she wanted me to photograph her, her husband, and their baby girl, Elara, in a field of bluebonnets.

I'm not sure if any other state has a similar, standard model for family portraits, but I'm fairly certain that every Texan has starred in at least one of these photos.

Yay, tradition.  Yay, Texas.

What a beautiful family!

...such a precious baby girl

This girl has so much attitude!

Although this probably wasn't the picture they had in mind... I love it.

Jennifer & Jose: Houston Wedding Photographer

When I first met Jennifer a few months ago, she promised a fun event... she was right on.  Jennifer surrounds herself with amazing people, and everyone seemed to have a blast!

Both the ceremony and reception were held at Rosemary's Garden.  The ceremony took place in a beautiful gazebo on site, and then everyone headed indoors to the lovely Ivory Room all decked out in pink and purple.

Unforgettable pre-wedding chit-chat with the girls-

Their adorable daughter/ flower-girl

These two are definite performers...

..they were cracking each other up during vows!

I know it's unconventional, but I love these shots-

Still laughing!

They chased each other for the cake smash!  (I was used as a human shield)

They call her the child-whisperer.

Thanks for inviting Gilded Sun to be a part of your big day!

Shannon: Houston Senior Photographer

I had an amazing time with this classic beauty; she was so easy to work with!  Shannon has a million dollar smile, amazing red hair and an easy-going attitude.  Needless to say, she made my job a breeze.

We met at Telge park, and Shannon had a small team to help with wardrobe- Mom, Dad, sister-in-law and her cutie-patootie nephew, who made an unforgettable appearance in the formal portion of our shoot!  (Have I ever mentioned how much I love personal touches?)

Shannon is attending A&M after graduation (following family tradition), and my guess is she is going to do splendidly!

Umm.. her hair is amazing, right?

Gig 'em!

One for mom-

ADORABLE!

I loved this casual, little dress-

We went for a little hike and found an awesome old tree-

Courtney and Dean: Houston engagement photographer

This past weekend, I met Courtney and Dean at the Mercer Arboretum for their engagement pictures.  I had never been to the botanical gardens, but the locale did not disappoint- everything was green and in bloom thanks to some recent rain.

These two warned me that they were a little uncomfortable and needed help being posed, but I think they did great!  I don't really like to take photos that are too posed anyways, so we were able to find a natural groove after a while.

Courtney smiled and laughed the whole time!  She said it was nerves, but what a way to cover nervousness!  She has an absolutely beautiful smile, and I think she must have a lot of joy in her life to smile and laugh so genuinely for an entire shoot.  :)

I love the look on Dean's face!

Courtney is such a ham!

She BEGGED Dean to make funny faces... definite school teacher!

Courtney also requested at least one jump shot...  :)

Absolutely gorgeous.

..the absolute only "serious" shot from the whole day

Gig 'em!
